Ronald McDonald House Westmead
Ronald McDonald House Westmead is a 60-room ‘home away from home’ for families whose child is receiving treatment for a serious illness at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
This can be a period of days, or many months. Staff and volunteers at the House ensure that families are given the support they need to be able to care for and comfort their child during their treatment and recovery.
Without Ronald McDonald House Westmead, families would be faced with travelling incredibly long distances, sleeping in waiting rooms or bedside chairs on hospital wards, facing the financial burden of paying for expensive hotel rooms, or even sleeping in their cars.
The House offers a soft landing and a place where the entire family can stay together under the one roof, offering amenities of a home: a kitchen, laundry, and shared living areas. They can keep up a routine, eat meals together, and retain a sense of normality during the tough times.
The House is part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® Greater Western Sydney Chapter, which also includes the Ronald McDonald Family Room Nepean, and Ronald McDonald Education Services.

Belinda Woolford | CEO of Ronald McDonald House Westmead
Belinda Woolford is CEO of Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney, in this role, and her previous role as Executive Manager Marketing & Corporate Relations, she has been responsible for driving a major expansion of the chapter and the House at Westmead. Through a successful capital campaign, Belinda and her team raised over $39 million for the new sixty room house, which opened on February 14, 2018. In addition to her role as CEO at RMHC GWS, Belinda is a mentor to a number of individuals throughout the Greater Western Sydney region and sits on a number of committees representing the charity on a National level.
