About Our Speakers:
 
Hon. Stuart Ayres MP (Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney)
Stuart was elected to the NSW Parliament in 2010, representing the seat of Penrith. Since his election, Stuart has held various portfolios including Minister for Fair Trading, Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events, Minister for Sport and Minster for WestConnex.
 
In April 2019 Stuart was appointed as Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism alongside his existing role as Minister for Western Sydney. Stuart is committed to achieving the NSW Government?s target of creating 250,000 jobs over the next four years. As Minister for Tourism, he is also committed to the Government?s target of doubling overnight visitor expenditure by 2020.  
 
As Minister for Western Sydney, Stuart is responsible for driving the NSW Government?s engagement in the Western Sydney City Deal, and the development of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, which will shape the development of Australia?s first 21st Century city based around the new airport. He is also responsible for the delivery of the Government?s 24 Hour Economy Strategy.    
 
Hon. Damien Tudehope MLC (Minister for Small Business & Finance)
Damien resides in the Hills District and grew up in the Moss Vale area before attending the University of Sydney, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws in 1978. 
 
Prior to being elected to the NSW Parliament, Damien was a partner in his own law firm, O?Hara and Company Solicitors, for thirty years. Damien has also been a small business owner, primarily in the childcare sector and was the Chief of Staff to the former Attorney-General Greg Smith.
 
Damien was elected to the seat of Epping in 2015 with the second highest primary vote in the history of the electorate. In March 2019, Damien was elected to the Legislative Council and was appointed as the Minister of Finance and Small Business. In April 2020, Damien was appointed as Vice-President of the Executive Council and Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council. In July 2020, Damien was appointed as Leader of the House in the Legislative Council.
 
Hon. Dr Geoff Lee (Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education and Acting Minister for Sports, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans)
Dr Geoff Lee MP is the Member for Parramatta and Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education and Acting Minister for Sports, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans.
He is committed to delivering world class skills and education for New South Wales. He is a passionate advocate for Western Sydney and its diverse communities. Minister Lee is also the driving force behind the NSW Government?s ongoing commitment to Parramatta, with more than $5 billion committed to build vital infrastructure over the next 4 years - infrastructure that will greatly improve the lives of the people of Parramatta for generations to come.
 
Prior to entering politics, Minister Lee was an award winning business owner, then TAFE teacher, lecturer and later the Associate Dean at the Western Sydney University. His research and publications cover small business, online learning and adult education. As a past business owner, Minister Lee continues to champion small business as a key driver of innovation, economic growth and local jobs. 

Dr Michelle Byrne (Mayor, Hills Shire Council)
Dr Michelle Byrne is the first-ever popularly elected Mayor of The Hills Shire Council.
Dr Michelle Byrne has led a distinguished career in both public and private sectors. Michelle was first elected to The Hills Shire Council in 2018 Local government elections and by 2011 had been elected Deputy Mayor.
She remains the youngest ever Mayor of The Hills Shire ? a title she received when she was elected Mayor in September 2012 at the age of 32.
 
Joseph La Posta (CEO, Multicultural NSW)
Joseph is a people and outcomes focused leader with more than a decade of executive leadership experience in corporate, not-for-profit and government sector roles. Joseph joined Multicultural NSW in the role of CEO in January 2019. Prior to becoming CEO, he was on the Advisory Board at Multicultural NSW and Chair of Sport NSW. 
 
Before joining the NSW Government, Joseph was a General Manager in a private consultancy and previously State Manager for the Australian Football League (AFL) in NSW/ACT. Joseph has led large and small teams overseeing business responsibilities including operations, commercial, finance, diversity and inclusion, government relations and major projects. He has a professional background and qualifications in town planning and social science. He undertook various positions in both private consultancy and local government in Sydney and Melbourne. 
Joseph is passionate about conscious consumerism and is a strong advocate for gender equality and workforce diversity.
 
Chris Lamont (NSW Small Business Commissioner) 
Chris Lamont commenced as NSW Small Business Commissioner in June 2020.  
As Commissioner he is focussed on resolving issues affecting small businesses and influences meaningful change to assist them.
 
Chris has experience in both the public and private sectors and has held executive positions in private companies as well as the three levels of government. As an advocate working in policy development he has both designed and delivered major reforms and programs for the construction, aged care and housing industries.  

In the private sector he has led not-for-profit and commercial businesses across a range of industries including: construction; facilities management; and health care.  
 
Michael Cullen (Regional General Manager, Western Sydney) 
Michael joined TAFE NSW in October 2016. Michael believes that the right training and the transfer of skills are fundamental to Western Sydney harnessing its potential. He has a strong background in economic and regional development and a passion for delivering programs that provide communities and businesses with the tools they need to grow and prosper.
 
Prior to commencing at TAFE NSW, Michael held roles including Acting Chief Executive Officer and Director, Economy & Engagement with Liverpool Council and Executive Director, Enterprise, Regional Development and Small Business with the NSW Department of State and Regional Development. 
 
As part of these roles Michael led or supported NSW Government Trade Missions to Malaysia, Singapore, the UAE, India and China, as well as implementation of a range of small business programs and initiatives.
 
Tim Spencer
(Executive General Manager ? Mulpha Developments)
Tim leads the Mulpha Development platform that has been delivering projects for over 25years on the world stage. With its skill base inworld leading, master planned communities such as Norwest Business Park, Sanctuary Cove Resort and Leisure Farm Resort, Mulpha Developments? expertise in commercial, residential, retail, recreational and infrastructure developments is exemplary. 
 
Tim?s 20 years of property experience was founded in tier 1 construction and development delivery, extending into visionary urban planning and sales and marketing. Tim has worked for both private and public enterprises? delivering the full spectrum of property from residential, commercial, industrial, retail, infrastructure and retirement.
 
Mark McCrindle (McCrindle Research)
Mark McCrindle is a social researcher with an international following. He is recognised as a thought leader in tracking emerging issues and researching social trends. 
 
Having developed his reputation across two decades as an award-winning social researcher, best-selling author and social commentator, Mark has appeared across all major television networks, radio and print media, and been twice invited to speak at TEDx. He has presented thousands of keynotes and workshops in all major industries including finance, technology, health, mining, energy and education for top global brands and organisations. His advisory, communications and research company, McCrindle, count among its clients more than 100 of the largest companies and leading international brands.

Kerrie Sheaves ? Chairman Sydney Hills Business Chamber
Kerrie is the Chairman of Sydney Hills Business Chamber and the Managing Director of Foundational Business Pty Ltd.
She has worked with micro and small business owners helping them grow their businesses for over 10 years.
Kerrie is passionate about business and community connection, she has been actively involved in the Chamber for over 8 years, 3 of those as a support partner, and served on the SHBC Board for the last 2 years as a project officer and Deputy Chairman.
Prior to founding her own business, she worked in senior management roles in several of Australia?s leading corporations.

Please inform us prior to event and we will transfer your booking to the following month or months depending on your situation.
 
1) Please arrive 15-30 minutes prior to event commencing so we can get all attendees into the event on time 
2) Please follow the current NSW Health Guidelines on Social Distancing and wearing of face masks.
3) Do Not have physical contact with another attendee or patron at any time
4) Once inside the venue and observe the 1.5 metre rule when lining up to be registered into the venue
5) Please have your smartphone available with the camera function on and use the Venue QR code to check-in to the venue
6) Once you have checked-in you will be directed to our Event Check-in where your name will be marked off or attendee list, and you will be advised of your table number. (Which has the maximum number of people per table in line with current Health Department rules.
7) Our SHBC COVID Marshalls will be at the venue registration area in addition to the venue staff to assist all attendees and escort you to your table
8) All meals will be served to the table by the venue staff and will be cleared once the meal aspect of the event is over.
9) Mingling and networking is permitted (in compliance with the current NSW Health guidelines for this event).
